Medium-sized, multi-purpose herding dog of rectangular frame with a long, thick black-and-tan coat and noble, elegant appearance. Known for their versatility, gentle nature, and distinctive tan markings.
Ancient herding breed from the Chodsko region of Bohemia, also known as Chodský pes, dating back to the 14th century. Bred as herding and guard dogs by the Chodové people, nearly extinct after WWII but revived in the 1980s. Received provisional FCI recognition in 2019 and is part of the AKC Foundation Stock Service.
