Native landrace from the Tonya district in Trabzon province, Turkey. Used for centuries as a multi-purpose farm dog, primarily for watchdog duties and hunting small vermin. Hardy breed adapted to the Black Sea region climate, recognized by regional Turkish organizations but not major international kennel clubs.
