A medium-sized, noble Swedish scenthound with a distinctive tan coat and black mantle, known for its athletic nature and exceptional ability as a hunter of fox and hare. This energetic Scandinavian breed combines endurance with keen scenting abilities.
Developed in the late 19th century by Swedish farmer Per Schiller, who crossed Swiss and German scenthounds with local hounds and English Harrier-type hounds. Created to be an exceptional hunter of fox and hare, first exhibited in 1907.
