Ancient herding breed from Poland descended from herding dogs of the Hungarian plains, used for herding and guarding flocks in lowland regions. Known as Polski Owczarek Nizinny (PON), nearly driven to extinction after WWII but revived by dedicated breeders including a Polish veterinarian.
