Description

A slender, medium-sized Spanish working terrier with a predominantly white coat and characteristic head markings, known for its lively, athletic nature and energetic, alert temperament

History

Developed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in the Andalusia region of Spain, particularly in the province of Cádiz. Originated from crosses between Fox Terriers brought by English wine merchants and local ratter dogs used to control vermin in wineries (bodegas). Traditional Spanish working terrier developed for vermin control, hunting, and farm work; recognized by regional and national breed clubs in Spain though not by AKC or FCI
