The Maneto is a variety of the Podenco Andaluz, characterized by its short legs (achondroplasia). This ancient Spanish breed was selectively bred in the provinces of Málaga and Cádiz to create a dog adept at navigating dense scrub and brambles to hunt rabbits and partridges. It was officially recognized by the Real Sociedad Canina de España (RSCE) in 2004, with FCI provisional recognition.
